The UIP Constitutional Reform Commitee and the UIP Executive have been involved in a comprehensive review of the Constitution of the UIP, identifying potential areas for discussion and review. In additon, legal opinion has been sought from two independent law firms, both of which have advised that the UIP Constitution is not legally compliant and is a historic document of no legal standing.
UIP member societies and stakeholders were sent a discussion paper for their comments on these areas for discussion and review, as well as conducting a series of General Council webinars to review the feedback.
The attached Discussion Paper document has been updated to incorporate the written submissions received by the UIP.
